Mobile, Alabama-based artist Sally Adams Trufant has worked with clay since her high school days in New Orleans.
I like the predictable unpredictability of clay; I enjoy the process of discovering what happens when I make the same thing again and again. While every piece may be similar, they are all very different to me; I can see the progression, the improvements, the subtle evolution of the original idea. When I’ve exhausted the idea I move on.
I am inspired by art, beauty, books, movies, travel, other cultures, funny people, a well-written turn of phrase, and the excitement I feel about the future.
