Kim Richard began her journey in the art world only a couple of years ago as she began approaching her retirement from the Coronado, California School System. She served as a Special Education Teacher for 13 years. She has a great passion for helping children, so retirement for Kim was bitter sweet.
As her retirement approached, and with the increasing time that her Navy Seal husband was deployed, Kim decided she needed a creative outlet that brought her peace and meditation. While establishing a new-found love for painting, she became very intrigued by the technique of Mandala Pointillism. She incorporated this technique into functional art by adding beautiful designs to terracotta clay pots and the accompanied plant saucers. Kim now creates amazing Mandala Pointillism designs to small wooden boxes, birdhouses, and jewelry dishes adding vibrant color and depth to what were once ordinary objects.
